Information Management and Inhibi
“Information management” is a term so broad that I would prefer to avoid defining it here and now. Every organization does it in some way, however, using multiple tools to gather, process and publish data of various kinds and purposes. From ordinary e-mail accounts to complex ERP systems, bits of information on internal business affairs, clients, projects, tasks flow from one person to another, adding to growing pile of information that is sometimes dispersed across many mailboxes, folders or computers.
At Inhibi, we are focused on small and medium teams and organizations that use e-mail, instant messaging, contact databases or word processing software as basis of their IT toolset. We want to give people an application that will provide a streamlined and unified interface that works on top of all kinds of pieces of data, treating them like single information store that can be accessed from every browser, shared between team members, published openly or kept private, depending on needs of the users.
We do not want to revolutionize the way people work (yet! :-)). We are developing a better mouse trap, something that will neutralize some of everyday chores of using multiple tools that do not communicate well among themselves. Something that we ourselves would like to have at our disposal.
